Yuko Oda was born in Tokyo, and lives in New York City. Recently she has exhibited at Paris DIVA Art Fair, MarcdePuechderon Gallery during Scope, Basel, Switzerland, 3RD WARD , Brooklyn, Artist Network Gallery in NY, Antena Estudio Gallery , Mexico City, Staygold Gallery , Brooklyn, RISD Museum , Providence, Room Space , Tokyo, and Scope 2004, NY. She was a finalist for the animation competition "Artport: The World Affected By Global Warming " , and her animation will be screened during the Miami Pool Art Fair at Art Miami Basel in December.
Oda obtained her MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and BA from Duke University. She was a resident at the School of Visual Arts in 1999, and a resident at the Vermont Studio Center in 2008. Oda received an Artist Grant from the Vermont Studio Center, ISRC grant from NYIT, the Professional Council Grant, and ACRE grant for interactive arts from Albright College. She teaches art at the New York Institute of Technology, and currently she is Art Gallery Chair for SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 opening in Yokohama, Japan in December of 2009.
